The slow rush of technology
OK, so the technology of this operation is having some difficulties - namely it can't quite keep up. I'm waiting for a video export here in a cafe where I've already been editing for around 3 hours... maybe more. I don't want to buy any over priced sandwich and I had a large coffee that was about 30 ounces... I can't handle any more.
There's apparently a huge fishing tournament in the area starting tomorrow. I went to check out the pre-game action at Smith Lake today. I guess the thing about fishing is that you have to be quiet and calm... not too much action. Maybe it'll get crazy tomorrow, they do the weigh-ins in the Wal-Mart parking lot. I'll be sad to miss those as an especially burly man told they are quite the sight, but I think I need to move on from old Jasper as soon as I get this video out.
I found a $35 hotel last night - the lap of luxury: heat and HBO. Logging the HDV footage takes 50% longer, so luckily I could watch "Elektra" while I was waiting for video to process. I was feeling quite decadent so I headed over to a BBQ place - I wanted meat. I got some huge beef brisket, smothered in sauce, with mac and cheese, collared greens, and biscuits. Thankfully I forgot to order the chili. I stared at the plate when I was finished with a prolonged moment of disbelief and personal satisfaction. I decided to cap off the over indulgence with one of those gas station hot chocolates - the ones that are basically warmed up corn syrup and powder. I got the 20 oz. I drank half while I began to edit back at the motel (conspicuously named simply - MOTEL) then I passed out in utter bloated pain. Those things always make me feel disgusting, but I was blinded by beef and cheese saturation when I switched from my original plan of tea and honey.
